J.O.Y. Ministry (Just Older Youth) hosts activities that address the spiritual, educational, and social needs of Senior Adults. The purpose of the ministry is to provide Christian fellowship, encouagement, friendship, compassion and outreach. Monthy activities are planned throughout the year. More information about these activities can be found in our weekly bulletin. Sign up sheets are in the Welcome Center.

July 2 - Patriotic Evening at Southeast Christian Church with "The Master's Men" in concert and message by Patrick Garcia.

The program will remind us of our hertiage as a nation and honor those who have served and continue to serve our country well through the armed services. Sign up and $3 bus fee is due June 25. We'll leave at 5:45 p.m.

August 10 - Tour University of Louisville Speed Art Museum, Lunch at Griff's Restaurant.

The museum seeks to inspire curiosity, build visual literacy, and foster a greater awareness of the world God created around us. Innovative programming allows visitors to see, create and interact with art in new and unexpected ways. Sign up, $8 cash or check payable to Joy Ministry is due July 23. Leave church at 9:00 a.m.

September 14 - Stepping Stones 2017 at Valley View Church, 11:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Mark's Feed Store & Gold City Quartet.

"Shower your Neighbors with Love" - Donate personal care items to local area ministries (i.e. body soap, shampoo, hand soap, deodorant, etc.) This annual event sponsored by the Owen Family, features a tasty buffet meal and southern gospel concert. Tickets are first-sign up, first serve basis and will be available after August 28. If you are unable to recieve a ticket, you may stll attend the concert at 1:00 p.m. Plan to drive on your own and arrive early.

W.O.W. Ministry provides fellowship and a time of sharing for senior adults through the churches visitation ministry. They meet the third Thursday of each month at 10:30 a.m. to visit SCC members who are shut-in, in the hospital, residents of health care facilities and retirement homes. Lunch at a local restaurant is included. Anyone is welcome to serve. Several ladies also send notes of encouragement to first time guests, members and shut-ins.
